Discord Policy

All members of any discord server they join must adhere to the discord community guidelines which is located here:

Aussie Virtual has set out some rules which mirror the Discord Community Guidelines however are clearly outlined within the server. These rules are subject to change. Discord members are responsible for checking the server rules upon entry.

Server rules include and are not limited to:

  • Remember we have age 13+ members within this Virtual Airline. Please keep this in mind when discussions are taking place. There will be no tolerance on behaviour that does not reflect this rule.
  • Respect: Maintain a respectful attitude towards all members and staff/moderators.
  • Do not harass, privately message (unless both parties approve) or abuse others.
  • No Spam: Keep discussions clean and spam-free.
  • Stay On Topic: Use the designated channels for relevant conversations.
  • No Self-Promo: Unless permitted by Aussie Virtual, refrain from unsolicited advertising.
  • Privacy: Do not share personal information without consent. Aussie Virtual will not be responsible for any private data that is leaked by people sharing their personal information.
  • Offensive or highly controversial material, discriminatory jokes or hate speech are not permitted.
  • Support: For support queries, please use our dedicated channels, viewing our FAQ page on our website or via contacting us by the support ticket system on our website. www.aussievirtual.com
  • Please abide by the Discord TOS. https://discord.com/terms
  • Please only post in English.  If you can’t speak English, please use Google Translate.
  • Do not attempt to @ everyone or staff members.
  • Moderators, Staff and Admins are empowered to use discretion when handling issues.
  • Respect the decision made by our moderator and staff team. If there is an issue, please appeal it using the Support Ticket page via our website.

Code of Conduct

Aussie Virtual Code of Conduct is designed to provide registered users, staff, and administration with guidance on appropriate ethical standards for related behaviour.

At Aussie Virtual we have created the below Code of Conduct to ensure all participating members adhere to the below and to understand disciplinary actions if the code is not followed:

  • Be respectful and kind.
  • Do not break the law of any country.
  • maintain a professional demeanour;
  • exercise good judgment and manners;
  • Do not harass or threaten anyone;
  • Do not insult or make derogatory comments about anyone;
  • Do not use offensive, defamatory or threatening language;
  • Do not share the private information about anyone with anyone without their express consent;
  • Do not advertise another Virtual Airline
  • Do not discuss, reference and/or provide links to sites or locations holding/hosting illegal (pirated) software. If it relates to a member of Aussie Virtual please lodge a support ticket advising us with evidence.
  • Do not discuss religion, sex, politics or any other topics commonly known to be controversial;
  • Do not post pornographic links or materials.

Below if the disciplinary actions that may be taken against anyone who breaches any section of the Code of Conduct or any other policy of Aussie Virtual. If criminal in nature, the necessary authorities will be advised and evidence produced to the authorities as per our privacy policy.

First BreachWarning Member will be warned with advice on how to rectify the behaviour and what will occur if behaviour continues.  
Second BreachMember will be warned again and will also have the hours of the last ten (10) flights removed from their profile.
Third and Final BreachMember will be terminated, and details removed from the system. Member will not be allowed back to the Virtual Airline.
  • THINGS TO NOTE:
  • Each breach will be recorded on the system via a support ticket that will be raised by any staff member for any future or subsequent breaches.
  • Staff are acting on behalf of the CEO. If a member disagrees with a breach disciplinary action, the member may contact Aussie Virtual CEO via the support ticket system (attention to CEO in the drop-down box). You will have two (2) days to lodge an appeal.
  • CEO has final say on all disciplinary actions if required. If not required, then staff are responsible for the action and recording such action.
  • We cannot cover every situation within our policies. If an issue has arisen that is not covered within a policy or Code of Conduct, staff are to adhere to the same disciplinary actions as stated above to ensure consistency.

Privacy Policy

Aussie Virtual is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The NPPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect includes names, email addresses, Vatsim Network ID, Country and City of residence and Usage Data.

This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including correspondence, by email, via our website www.aussievirtual.com, from cookies and from third parties. We don’t guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. We do not create or hold mass email distribution lists nor do we send mass emails to all members. All correspondence is via our website or crew centre.

When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

Sensitive information will be used by us only:

•           For the primary purpose for which it was obtained

•           For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

•           With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.

Third Parties

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

•           Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and

•           Where required or authorised by law.

Security of Personal Information

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.

When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.

Access to your Personal Information

You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.

Aussie Virtual will not charge any fee for your access request, and will not charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.

In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.

Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information

It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We  will  take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
